Editorial Reviews

Review

For God-seekers who really want to know God, this book will be the key to unlocking the barred doors of their minds, offering freedom they have never found addressed anywhere else. Michaels teaching will revolutionize the way we relate to God. I can honestly say I will never be the same again. --Nancy Williams, Senior Editor, Beautiful One Magazine

Trillo, virtually an unknown first time author, takes readers to places many never get to in a lifetime. He provides sage insight from his own struggle to live a purposeful life as it unfolds into something radically different from where he began, a place where we would all like to be. It prompted personal evaluation and realignment in my own life. --Chris Renzelman, NW Regional Coordinator, National Network of Youth Ministry

There is nothing hard about this. With the Bible as his foundation, Trillo charts a true course from exhaustion, sickness, and anxiety, to living with purpose, joy, peace, and strength. This book will encourage you to a deeper relationship with Jesus. --Jeremy Kingsley, President, Onelife Ministries

Mike, THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS BOOK!

I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing it has been to me. You have taken a what many people would consider a challenging concept (relationship with God) and you have broken it down into bit-sized pieces that actually make sense. The chapter I keep coming back to and re-reading is chapter 9, "Habit #3, Meet with God". The pages that specifically spoke to my heart and spirit are pages 116 and 117. As a lifelong "to-do list" gal, I had never, ever considered praying about my to-do list! Not to mention praying about God's to-do list for me. I like what you wrote on page 117, "Did you know that God has His own to-do-list for you? Why not meet with the smartest and most powerful Source in the universe? He is the ultimate parent, business man, doctor, accountant, counselor, teach and friend."

I want that kind of help! As a life long entrepreneur I know the value of a great accountant, counselor, etc., and now I realize that kind of help is available to me, 24 hours a day, for FREE! The price has already been paid.

Mike, thank you for your transparency in writing this book. This is one of those rare books where someone has really shown you their heart via the written word.

Be blessed!

In these days of repackaged micro-truths and self-help books, Trillo has produced a refreshing book that closely examines our chaotic lives against the truth of the Bible. He provides very practical suggestions as to how we are to live; practices that he has clearly first put into his own life. One can profit from his work if you are a brand new Christian or a seminary educated pastor-teacher.

Trillo has done what so many academics cannot. He has somehow found a way to identify the most important components inherent in Christianity (Love and Forgiveness) and with stunning logic and no-nonsense simplicity, effectively communicates just why they are so imporant.

Trillo has a gift for not only communicating what so many others have had difficulty putting into words. He has trumped many of the most valiant efforts by breaking down hard-to-explain principles into terms everyone can understand.

If you're hurting physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually you cannot help but experience healing in all four areas after reading this book.

Trillo's book is straight up Biblical principals that are written in a no-nonsense format. The first half of the book with internals (stress, purpose, self-talk, beliefs) of the Christian life while the second half deals more practically with changes and behaviors to work on (forgiving, receiving, meeting with God, praise, love, celebration, understanding, encouraging). I appreciated the practical application given in the second half of this book.

My favorite part of What God Really Wants is the personal story of Trillo's life woven into the chapters. It is obvious that this has been a journey for him and what he is writing he is also living. Like G.K. Chesterton, Trillo has searched out radical Christian living and found himself square in orthodoxy.

Highly recommended, especially for small groups and people needing their fundamentals sharpened.

Outside of the Bible, this book has impacted my life like no other. I have found myself praying, talking about, mulling over and internalizing this teaching. In doing so, the mental and emotional patterns of my spiritual walk have drastically changed. As a homemaker, I am relating differently to my husband, my children, my loved ones, and surprisingly - myself. I have been teaching the things I've learned to my children and watching huge changes unfold in their attitudes and outlook. The most amazing part is how naturally this is coming about, without having to "try harder," to "love better". I am, quite simply loving life and those around me in a deeper way, all because of what I have learned in this book about what my Heavenly Father really thinks of me and how He wants me to relate to Him.

In addition to this, I tend to be skeptical of books that say "changing such and such" will do this to your health. But I am sleeping better, my migraines have been reduced to almost zero and there is a huge difference in my immune system. God made my body, so why should I be surprised that when I learn from Him how to forgive, to not fear and to receive His love, that I am healthier. I can't believe the difference - not because of "doing", but because of believing what God intends me to believe about Him and how He made me.

Because of what God has done in me through this book, I have been buying up copies and handing them out to friends who I want to see experience more of His love. I cannot recommend "What Does God Really Want?" highly enough.

My wife and I recently read Michael Trillo's new book and were blown away by the simple biblical principles that can literally change your life. It is amazing to understand that most stress actually stems from bitterness and fear. Mike Trillo delivers a powerful message of forgiveness and how it can release you from stress and sickness. We have seen friends apply some of the principles of this book and have been healed of neck and back pain almost instantly. "What does God really want" is easily one of the best books I have read in the past few years. I feel like I need to read it again and I just finished it.
