About the Author
Born to Christian parents, Fran Wood spent her childhood in Fitzgerald, Georgia, a unique town in the Deep South, originally settled in unity by Northern and Southern soldiers shortly after the Civil War. She moved to Florida as a young woman and spent most of her adult life as a paralegal doing tedious legal research. She was published in a risk management magazine and ghost wrote a column in a local newspaper. Yet, she longed to write meaningful works that would inspire and uplift the reader.

What My Dog Taught Me About God is Fran's first book. It is the product of her spiritual journey following the deaths of her parents within a few weeks' time in 2001, with the 9/11 attack occurring in the middle of that time.

Fran and her husband Jim live in Ellenton, Florida along with their beloved dog, Bandit. They have three sons and three grandchildren.

This is a very heart warming story, and so true for all of us when going thru tough times. We never really take time to think about how our pets react, but this story makes so much sense, and can help all of us at some time or other. Enjoyable reading!

This book is about much more than the author's relationship with her dog: It's about her connection to G-d through Bandit, her pet Shih Tzu. By paralleling her loving relationship with Bandit, the author deftly highlights her revelations about G-d and His love.

The author's unconditional love for her pet "Gremlin" becomes the path out of her spiritual "wilderness," brought about by the deaths of her mother and step-father in 2001.

The author's penchant for reaching out to her audience and speaking from the heart underlies this book and strengthens its universal messages.
Reading the book was like looking in a mirror: The author's insights became my insights about G-d and G-d's love.

I encourage anyone who is experiencing a spiritual wilderness to read how a pet can indeed be man's teacher.

I wish people knew what God's love is really all about. It's so simple, unconditional, & freeing. Fran Wood conveys this love in her book in ways that most people can understand & relate to in their daily walk. The Lord wants us to love Him & accept His love. He is our devoted master, & He knows what is best for each of us. Thank you Fran.
