Saw this book on the shelf at a local bookstore after Dr. Rodgers had passed from this physical life to the next. Realized it was a book written after he retired shortly before he died of colon cancer and was curious what nuggets of wisdom he would share. Started reading it about 3 weeks ago on the outbound leg of a business trip, GOD had plans to put it in someone else's hand, so I have now purchased it twice, and worth every penny.

This book, although not too deep theologically, touches on some very tough questions which young and mature Christians alike struggle with. Dr. Rogers explains them in ways that anyone can understand and backs them up with both experiential and biblical evidence. He starts by building an essential foundation for belief in the bible based on historical, biblical and scientific sources and then shares 11 other essentials that all Christians need to know to mature and grow.

Dr. Rodgers Ministry was and is titled " A Love Worth Finding", well this book is a book worth reading. I will be purchasing many other copies.

I am a pastor, and sometimes I start getting into the really deep theological parts of the Bible, and my wife reels me back in. This book is an example of that. Pastor Rogers takes deep theological positions such as assurance and eternal security and really helps the reader understand his position. You may not agree with all he has to say, but his way of simplifying God's Word for new believers is powerful. I plan to purchase this book as a gift for some of my friends in the church who are new in their Christian walk.
I am glad my wife bought the book...and she wishes I would give it back!

Adrian Rogers does a great job in covering the basics of the Christian faith. His illustrations and subtitles make remembering the basics easier. He really knows how to put the cookies on the lower shelf so baby Christians can help themselves. I recommend this book to those who are just been born into the family of God and to those who, like myself, find it necessary and refreshing to review the basics all over again.

"What Every Christian Ought To Know" is great for small groups. This is our second group to take through this study and how very helpful it is. It not only takes every believer past the basics of faith and the Christian life, but also helps each person understand some deeper principles of doctrine. It has been and will continue to be a staple for our small group studies.

I cannot rave enough about this book. This is definitely a book every Christian should own, and keep beside his Bible and refer back to it often. I have purchased 7 of these books for family and friends. I am presently reading it for the second time. It is an easy read, but with mega insights. It is for the new Christian as well as the long-time Christian. Truly, a Must Read!

If you want to have a Christian life that reflects how Christ intended us to live this is the pattern to follow.

In my opinion, This book is better than "Your Best Life Now" By Joel Osteen.
Easy to understand and it's not boring.Grab a pen and paper and study this book. You can learn something from this book instead of wondering if you really know what he is talking about.
No fancy talk - Just right to the point.
This book would be great for a pastor, teenager, adult, new christain, or even a senior christain.

The late Adrian Rogers published this book in 2005. Until I read it after a friend mentioned it, I had never heard of him. Written in folksy everyday English, with 12 chapters exploring such topics as faith, and how to have it, what happens when a Christian sins, is the Bible true and how do we know, how to handle temptation, and how to be assured of salvation, I became so engrossed, so deeply interested in this man's spiritual insights, that I began to read more slowly and as I did this, it dawned on me - this is a book for everyone. I won't hesitate to share it.

Who wouldn't relish a good discussion about these observations concerning how to discern the will of God, how to discover spiritual gifts, how to pray with power, and how to understand the Bible. All this and much more is addressed within 248 pages written by an exceptional preacher just prior to his death so all people of faith can grow stronger, climb higher, and face the future with confidence.

I don't quite know the reason this particular book got my attention, as I have read similar ones over the years - maybe I sensed that the author was sincere and deeply concerned about modern Christianity. Read it and see what you think. It's worth the time, is affordable, and a great comfort.

Super book for baby Christians or older
Christians that have had mimimal growth.
