Wonderful Resource for Early Childhood Childcare Providers, July 11, 2000
This review is from: What to Expect When You Go to the Doctor (What to Expect Kids) (Hardcover)
As a Child Care Nurse Consultant, I provide health and education training for numerous childcare centers and homes. This book is a wonderful resource for easing the fears of young children when a docotor's appointment approaches. The exercises in the book are great fun and an excellent opportunity for learning!

A great book for young kids, December 13, 2006
This review is from: What to Expect When You Go to the Doctor (What to Expect Kids) (Hardcover)
We were given this book when my son was two years old. We would give this a hearty recommendation to anyone. Starting at about age 2 1/2 we read this book every day (often twice a day) before, after and during his "physicals" with a toy doctor's kit. This lasted for more than two months -- and he still (at age 3) occasionally asks for the doctor's book and song ("oh the doctor will listen to your heart" -- to the tune of 'She'll be coming round the mountain' -- and its many made up verses!) Anyway, the book itself offered good information which was easy for our son to understand. It offered us a lot of opportunity for discussion about doctors, what they do, why we need to go to the doctor, what happens at a checkup, why the doctor listens to our heart, why they look in our eyes and ears or push down on our tummy and so forth.
