5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled; definitely worth checking out
I'm not quite sure what the previous reviewer was expecting from a live Spankers musical document, but I get the impression that they probably wouldn't care for much of any of The Spankers' output. I was extremely disappointed with this and ended up giving it away. Nothing air-worthy for a radio show, and it was immature and not well produced.

I'm not quite sure what the previous reviewer was expecting from a live Spankers musical document, but I get the impression that they probably wouldn't care for much of any of The Spankers' output. I've been collecting their stuff since the late 90's, and have their full catalog and several live recordings to compare it to. Yeah, I have to admit that it may not be their best, but it was sort of an interesting premise, well-executed and produced as a snapshot of the tour, and spotlights several high points. among these, I would have to personally include Christina Marrs on 'Blue Prelude' (from HOT LUNCH), new Spanker Charlie King on 'My Baby In The CIA', Wammo on 'Leaf Blower', and the inimitable Stanley Smith, well, on just about anything. We can argue about matters of taste all day long, but I think it's just the continuation of a happy tradition for the group. If your musical tastes veer toward acoustic ragtime, blues, jazz, country, or swing, let alone an amalgam of such, with a healthy dose of humor thrown in, this may be for you.
