Bill does it again. This book inspires men to take a leadership role in every aspect of there lives instead of just sitting back and waiting for the next guy to exact a positive change in society. He also walks one through the step-by-step process on how to realize these goals.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This book had a most promising title. I was planning to give this book to a male family member who needs to step up to the plate and lead spiritually. Having read the book however, I felt that it was not particularly inspiring. In addition, one quote kept me from giving the book to its intended recipient. Footnote 12 of chapter 10, in my opinion, was taken way out of...

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of Wisdom, January 30, 2011
This review is from: What God Does When Men Lead: The Power and Potential of Regular Guys (Hardcover)
One of my favorite Christian Living books to date. It is just as good as the very popular "Wild at Heart."

Bill Peel does a terrific job of challenging a man to explore major aspects of his walk with God and his love for others. Proverbs 27:17 says "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Bill shares wise and direct insight on how the ordinary man can step up and be a man in these areas: Following God, Leading Family, Leading Workplace, Leading Community, and Leading the Church.

I also like how Bill walks through a passage of scripture. May Christian authors today share a small part of a verse and then share their thoughts. Bill walks through passages of the Bible and integrates them with wisdom. Although no Christian author is perfect, Bill accomplishes his goal - to provide a challenge for all men to grow in our walks with God.

After reading this book, I was so impressed I purchased a copy for a friend.

My only suggestion for improvement: publish as an audiobook for those men who don't enjoy reading but can listen on their daily commute.

Having read the book however, I felt that it was not particularly inspiring. In addition, one quote kept me from giving the book to its intended recipient. Footnote 12 of chapter 10, in my opinion, was taken way out of context and, quite honestly, was irrelevant to the point of the book. Taken to its logical conclusion -- that financial management of the home is best left to men -- this could be quite detrimental in homes where the husband is financially clueless and the wife is the one gifted in numbers & financial understanding. True spiritual leadership empowers gifted people to use their gifts in whatever arena they are gifted and is not threatened by their expertise.
