Now, I haven't bought the whole album, "Me and my Gang," because I don't like almost all of Rascal Flatts's music, except What Hurts the Most. It's a beautiful song that I think deserves a lot of credit. There are two versions of this song, one sung by a male, and one by a female, although I like this version, the male one better; because I think he has a better voice, but they both are the same song and sound really nice, nonetheless.

What makes me like this song so much is that it really reminds me a lot of my life. Here are some examples: "There are days, every now, and again I pretend, I'm okay, but that's not what gets me" is actually true in my life. "What hurts the most, was being so close, and having so much to say, and watching you walk away. And never knowing, what could have been, and not seeing that loving you is what I was trying to do" is also true in my life. So those are the examples I'll give you, though there are some such as the final example: "It's hard to force that smile when I see your old friends and I'm alone." So almost the whole song is basically what I'm feeling a lot of the time.

The whole song is just beautiful from the music to the singing; It's just a wonderful combination. I don't usually pay attention to the lyrics of a song, which I wish I don't do, but I do, but this song just makes me listen and focus on what he's saying with some additional harmony in the background.

For a long time I've listened to this song and knew what it meant, although it went through one ear and out the other, so when the song was over then I was thinking, "Why was I so happy???" But when I read the lyrics, then just looking at them made me cry!

I haven't really enjoyed a lot of country music lately but this song is one that you just have to sing along to.

RASCAL FLATTS AND HIS BAND ARE IN A CATEGORY BY THEMSELVES. I WANTED THIS ONE SONG TO ADD TO MY COLLECTION. I HATE SPENDING MONEY TO BUY THE WHOLE ALBUM AND THEN ONLY ENJOY 1-2 SONGS ON THE WHOLE ALBUM.

Music is a personal choice... Reviews shouldn't help you make a decision on what music you do and don't like. If you like it play it, if not, don't It's literally as simple as that. I loved this song.

I really enjoy this song by Rascal Flatts. I like many of their songs, but their old ones are the best and this one is so well written. Very relate-able.

Not the biggest country music fan, but I've always liked Rascal Flatts. This song is great when you're missing that one that you let get away.
