For every child whose loved one is "incarcerated",
By Vicki Ellis Griffis "Feature Columnist The Ce... (Celeste Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: What is Jail, Mommy? (Paperback)
I have known children who traveled this journey without explanation. The ones left behind never knew how to explain, so these children were left to wonder if they brought about the absence. If this book had been available, their future would have looked brighter. I am thankful "What is Jail, Mommy" is now available to enlighten the innocent for years to come.
This book is for every parent, grandparent, friend, minister, or counselor who has the disquieting task of explaining the unexplainable.

This is well written for children of all ages. It helps to start conversations and is illustrated with kid friendly pictures. It has general facts of life in jail in easy to understand terms. It is honest without being too scary for younger children.
