An A to Z Topical Reference in the Words of Jesus, February 13, 2008
This review is from: What Does Jesus Say About...Christ Speaks To Us Today (Hardcover)
Cecil Price, Senior Research Fellow with Christian Information Ministries has done extensive research to compile this thorough and important reference tool "What does Jesus say about." The format includes the setting, the Biblical Text (quoted from the sayings of Jesus) arranged in alphabetical order by a key word, term, concept or phrase, beginning with "abandonment" and closing with "Zechariah."
This is neither a commentary nor a dictionary but an opportunity for the reader to study the words of Jesus himself as the commentary on a topic, or concept chosen for consideration. The New American Standard Translation (updated edition) of the Bible is used as the text source for the Biblical quotations and references. I found the introductory chapter on "How to Get the Most Out of This Book" especially helpful. The appendix includes two significant articles: "How to Personally Know Jesus," and "Resources for Additional Study," as well as a "Map of the Ministry of Jesus."
This user friendly, reference is insightful, very well organized, and an invaluable resource for sermon preparation, for research for Bible school and seminary students, and as an important resource tool for lay leaders. It is also valuable for any one desirous of becoming more familiar with the teaching and person of Jesus, himself. I personally found "What does Jesus say about..." helpful for preparation for my own group Bible study participation and for reflection and devotional use.

Thank you Cecil, for making my studying easier!, February 13, 2008
This review is from: What Does Jesus Say About...Christ Speaks To Us Today (Hardcover)
How delighted I was to discover this new reference book for my library. My main goal in life for many years has been to get to know Jesus better everyday. I have taken many bible study courses over the years, most being "Precepts for Life" by Kay Arthur who requires a lot of homework. I spend hours combing through reference books either while doing my homework or when I am trying to explain Jesus to someone. The joy of having this book is that I can go directly to a topic and see exactly what Jesus said about it - it's simple, unlike some reference books. Thank you Cecil, for making my studying much easier. N.R., Tavares, FL.

The Work of a Careful Researcher, July 2, 2011
What did Jesus say about women? the unpardonable sin? the abomination of desolation? You'll find the answers to those questions and many, many more in this book by professional researcher Cecil Price. The author is a professional researcher by trade, as well as being an ordained pastor, a preacher, and a member of a Christian research organization. His credentials include possessing a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, as well as having done research and having performed literary services for well-known Christian authors and ministries, such as Josh McDowell, Bill Bright, John Trent, EvanTell and others. This book is the fruit of many years of careful, intensive, and painstaking research on the part of the author.
This volume is essentially a handy, portable index of the words, phrases, and subjects that the Lord Jesus spoke about, not only in the 4 gospels; but also, for instance, in the books of Acts and Revelation. The book doesn't merely give Scripture references for the entries--it gives the text of the Scripture for each entry from the New American Standard Bible--Updated edition. The book is very well-crafted, such that the various entries in it are extensively cross-referenced, both to other entries within the book, and also to other Scripture references. The author also helpfully provides the setting and context for each of the sayings of the Lord Jesus. Appendixes at the end of the book provide a Map of the Ministry of Jesus; God's plan of salvation; and a listing of resources for additional study.
This will be a welcome and valuable addition to the library of any Bible student, pastor, teacher,or scholar who wants to know what Jesus Himself said about any subject that He Himself spoke on as contained the New Testament.
As someone who has known the author personally for many years, I can vouch for his Christian character, integrity and dedication to the craft of research.
