Book Description

January 1, 1998
This is the only book of it's kind. It provides all the information the herb labels leave off, because the FDA will not allow any dosage or uses on the labels.Other topics include establishing an herb regimen, determining dosages based on your age and fitness level, and evaluating various amounts of literature available. What the Labels Won't Tell You, with it's comprehensive charts and friendly accessible format, sheds light on the herb craze like no other book has done.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

"There's a lot of confusion on the subject of herbal medicine," says Logan Chamberlain, Ph.D., president of Herb Companion Press, publisher of Herbs for Health, and host of the nationally syndicated radio program "Herbs and Your Health." Fortunately, for the millions of Americans who want to take advantage of herbs like garlic, ginkgo, and echinacea but are confused by the glut of supplements on the market, Chamberlain's written What the Labels Won't Tell You.

Chamberlain does much more than explain how to decode complicated labels. He reveals how supplements are made and regulated and gives suggestions for getting started with herbal wellness in a conservative, safe, and responsible way. There are also chapters on herbal supplements for men and women as well as a section on using herbs to avoid serious medical conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol. This slim guide is packed with all the information you need to sort through the maze of herbal remedies and emerge healthier and empowered to take charge of your health. --Ellen Albertson

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, October 10, 2005
This review is from: What the Labels Won't Tell You: A Consumer Guide to Herbal Supplements (Paperback)
This is quite possibly the worst book on holistic health I have ever read (and I have read quite a few). I am a strong believer in natural healing but this book is the stuff of charlatans and snake-oil salesman. Don't waste your money. I wish I didn't.
