Closure, at last!,

This book is a very good novelization of the final days of DS9, the TV series. The last few episodes went by so fast. I loved the series more than I realized. I was much more deeply invested in the characters than I ever realized. This book let you experience the final acts and decisions in an extended time frame -- the last episode of the TV show just went too fast to allow complete understanding and acceptance of its finality. This book gave extra insight into the feelings and motivations of all the charcters in their final DS9 days. I loved the book and didn't want it to end.

Perfect for the DS9 fan!,

This book is essentially a transcript of the final 2-hour episode... which was nice to revisit in written form. The touching goodbyes made me teary-eyed as ever. If you are like me and really miss the best Trek show, pick this up as a souvenir, you won't be sorry.

One of the best DS9 novels ever written.,
This review is from: What You Leave Behind (Star Trek Deep Space Nine) (Mass Market Paperback)
I had first seen the final episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on UPN and I immediately enjoyed it. I then found out there was going to be a novel of the episode and I got it right away. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The episode and the book were very well written.

A great novel, a great adventure.Diane Carey did make the finale feel and look a wonderful classic Star Trek. I mean she did give more than a nice touch to the ending of DS9. After all, no author who can write novelization better than Diane Carey.

this is a book that actually made me grateful to the writers of the t.v. show despite all the things they've tried to pull over the years, they gave us good dominion/cardassian/breen conflicts resolutions and fly-by-nights. I don't know who Diane Carrey is, but what she knows about my favorite charactors is based on federation propoganda and little else. Evil evil evil. the only slightly bright spot is that Garak (who is NOT the revenge type) is a LITTLE better done in that scene. I will never ever ever buy a book from this woman ever again. If she can't control her predjudices long enough to write a book she shouldn't be writing books.

A Masterpiece,

This novelization of the final epiode of DS9 is fantastic. The characters are represented well, and we finally see the inevitable fate of Bajor, DS9, Cardassia, and etc. It is truly a masterpiece, and I hate it that the tv series had to the end, but "all good things. . ." I believe all DS9 fans will love this novel, and perhaps even cry.

After I read this book, I realized how much I had actually fallen in love with all these characters! The book had so much more and was so much better that the episode, in my opinion! The Odo/Kira scene was really touching, and I cried after the book was over, not wanting it all to be over. It was a really well-written book, and I give my accolades to Diane Carey on this. Now, if they could just do something about the length.... Read the book, people, you will love it!

Not quite as painful as Diane Carey's "Dominion War" books, but she fails to really get into the minds of the characters as we see them on the show. Tolerable. Read only if you are a completist -- and have read almost everything else. (I remember Diane Carey being a far better author than these three adaptions show. Maybe she's just not good with DS9.)

I really liked the episode and was looking foreward to the novelization. But it's so short! Why? This is a two part episode, the finale. Diane Carey is usually pretty good, so the novel's brevity was definitely disappointing. This is not to discourage you from reading it, but you're sure to feel cheated.

I'm kicking myself for wasting $5 on this junk! It had nothing in it that I didn't see on the TV episode so why did I buy it? Whata rip!!!!
