If you are a liberal (or slightly so) and enjoy quotations, then you'll probably enjoy this. Conservatives/Republicans will not enjoy this book at all. This is a nice little gift to give to a fellow liberal. It is nicely organized by topic so it's easy for the reader to find what they are looking for. The topics cover everything you can think of and the quotes come from some of the most famous Democrats and commentators to the less known. The quotes also vary from one liners to full paragraphs. Towards the end of the book are quotes from Republicans, but they focus on the ridiculous things that they have said.

I really enjoyed this collection and I found a lot of quotes to annoy my republican friends with. I really think that only a liberal or democrat could enjoy this quotation collection.

Just what I need to counteract the endless lies about who and what liberals are about from politicos to church spokespeople.

"What Liberals Believe" is an excellent book. It's not a conventional book in the sense that it is thousands of quotes by liberals, for liberals about any issue you could possibly think of, with topics being listed throughout the book in alphabetical order, so it is easy to find particular quotes about a subject when searching.

There are no paragraph-sized excerpts that would give the sense of the argument being made. Just a line or two in each case. On the other hand, there are LOTS of them, on every subject under the sun, so if you are looking for something to put in an article and need a Progressive sound bite on a given topic, this is your book. Or, if you just want to keep it in the bathroom for those times when you just have a minute to read, and want some inspiration....

I enjoyed reading this: "Thousands of Quotes on Why America Needs to Be Rescued from Greedy Corporations, Homophobes, Racists, Imperialists, Xenophobes, and Religious Extremists" Now whenever I recognize something similar to it I am able to come up with an argument which will stir up something or quiet it down on wherever I see it. It is rather fun. Sometimes I actually use the argument itself to get the individual to disagree with me.

This is great resource for liberal minded people. One of the previous reviewers said he threw it out after the first page, and I'm suprised he really bought it at all. The title speaks for itself. If you have no stomach for liberal thought, don't buy this book and get Going Rogue instead.
