5.0 out of 5 stars excellent and easy read, January 9, 2004

This review is from: What Men Think about Sex (Paperback)
the book started off as a comic take on the way men are usually perceived - out there to score as many girls as they can. But it's written in a diary format and has lots of self-reflections about the ways of men. And if you're disappointed with how they are - there is a very nice ending to warm anyone's heart.

The book is a very easy read and a good insight as well. Several excellent laughs along the way too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Male "Sex in the City", February 16, 2004
By
Fumiko Senda (Taipei, Taiwan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: What Men Think about Sex (Paperback)
Tim is not Rob¡¦s best mate. Rob neither knows Tim¡¦s middle name, nor what country he came from. Rather, Tim is someone Rob worked with in the London office of an internationally successful computer software company, who, for 18 months share common attitudes; (they laugh at each other¡¦s jokes; enjoy drinking the same drinks for approximately the same amount of time before getting drunk, and further,) they have even came to agreement thinking the new-girl- at ¡Vwork, Clare Jordan is sexy. Clare Jordan has gorgeous legs, shoulder-length brown hair, mildly pretty, certainly pretty and Rob Mason has only forgotten about her sexiness for four days. That¡¦s how sexy she is. One three o¡¦clock afternoon, Rob has found himself seated on Tim¡¦s sofa, with a mug of coffee. When Tim has announced ¡§We are gathered today to commemorate the inauguration of the Clare Jordan Five And Three-Quarter Feet Handicap Stakes¡¨, and on the board an unfolded paper, with two columns of ¡§TIM¡¨ and ¡§ROB¡¨ and ¡§C¡¨, ¡§L¡¨, ¡§A¡¨, ¡§R¡¨, and ¡§E¡¨ on the side, with the large blank of space said ¡§RULES¡¨, Rob had finally realized that it was a competition between himself and ¡§Tim¡¨, for the one to be the first to try and win Clare¡¦s hand. The competition was set to be each attempted to sleep with either five girls with the initials of Christian names or place names which shall be ¡§C¡¨, ¡§L¡¨, ¡§A¡¨, ¡§R¡¨, E¡¨. Whoever completes the task first will be the one who is going to have expensive dinner date between him and Clare Jordan, and it shall be funded by the loser. It was almost the end of competition when Rob finally realized that who he really cared was not Clare Jordan. Rob had realized himself talk less and less about Clare Jordan. Rob has found himself liking Hannah, who he had known for a long time and have asked for advice about how to ¡§score¡¨ girls for the ¡§Clare Jordan Five And Three-Quarter Feet Handicap Stakes¡¨ competition. At the end, rob realized that sex and love are ¡§the feelings¡¨, and that he sex was something to have with someone he really loved.

This book is written in easy-read diary form, on how Tim and Rob wish they will not regret saying ¡§they wish they had slept with more girls¡¨ like many men do, betting on sexy girl Clare by sleeping with 5 girl sleeping starting with those initials. This book tells ¡§what men think about sex¡¨ and has self-reflection after they have scored a girl. The story turns out to have a completely different ending that nobody has expected. If you enjoy watching ¡§Sex in the City¡¨, then this is the right book you are looking for. ¡§What Men Think About Sex¡¨ is the male Sex in the City.
