Book Description

Is being a troublemaker an intergenerational phenomenon? Do you ever need to punish your kids because they’ve done exactly what you did a quarter century earlier? Or, worse yet, do you find you can’t punish them because you’re laughing too hard? Do you remember your mother doing the same thing and then ponder, if you are just like your mother now, was she like you then?

In this memoir short (note: this is not a full length book), Elizabeth-Anne Kim explores the funny side of inheriting her mother’s less-than-endearing quirks and passing them on again to her children. We may never know whether nature or nurture makes us who we are, but we are certain that laughing makes life easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars So True to Life March 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Kitchen fires, doggie antics, kids who find loop holes in instructions ... these incidents and others remind me that we often have a choice. We can stress out and go nuts, or we can find the humor and laugh through things. Elizabeth-Anne Kim finds the humor and I laughed right along with her. She has a way of writing about the family situations we never mention to others and making them riotously funny.Read these stories and get a fresh view of your own tribe, hopefully a view that will have you laughing the rest of your life.

These short stories are excellent examples of universal experiences of motherhood told in entertaining scenes. The writer uses vivid imagery to create characters you will care about -- and recognize in yourself. Brava.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing January 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While this was funny and cute, it lacked any depth or engagement. The length and quality didn't warrant the price.
