John Medina, Ph.D. not only authored this detailed, concise book about Alzheimer's Disease, but also drew the terrific graphics describing the various aspects of the disease.

Medina spends quite a bit of time explaining the "biology of Alzheimer's Disease" which can get quite technical. But, if you are interested in how the brain and nerve cells are affected, as well as other physical aspects of the disease, you will love these sections. His graphics are superb. My other favorite chapters deal with understanding difficult behavior, suggesting helpful, personal interventions, and offering practical advice for helping with the activities of daily living for a person with Alzheimer's Disease.

In short, the book is wonderfully designed, clearly detailed, and touchingly compassionate.

Medina has an excellent book about Alzheimers!! The graphics are extraordinary. He presents complex information in a manner which is easily understood by a cross section of the population

Medina has managed to compile a complete text which appeals to both gerontology professionals and the lay public. He explores aspects of Alzheimers' enthusiastically and scientifically-parallel to journal articles and technical papers which present Alzheimer's research.

I endorse the purchase of "What you need to know about Alzheimers"-the book is quite useful and is reasonably priced. Hopefully the author will publish an updated version in the not too distant future
