Absolutely better than I expected..., August 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: What You Never Know (Audio CD)
and I expected so much! The Hot AC Mix spins wonders above the original - and I loved the original. You know how WE all love Sarah Brightman, but the radio never does? This seriously is radio-ready material. 'What You Never Know' has gotten a face-lift, liposuction, and everything else - hot fresh guitars, a steady beat (which seems a bit faster, which I like alot). It is no more a quiet song, like a soft ballad, but a very bold song - not a REMIX at all. I feared that it would be like a Hex Hector remix - like the Harem remixes - but it's just a re-do of the original, with the exact same time and everything. A must buy! It's dirt cheap too - and also contains the French version, with the same "remake".

Pretty, Short & Sweet!, June 17, 2003
This review is from: What You Never Know (Audio CD)
Today, I went out and bought my copy of Sarah's "What you never know/Tout ce que je sais" single.
There are 2 tracks on it:
What you never know (HOT AC MIX) 3:25
Tout Ce Que Je Sais (HOT AC MIX) 3:24
The Original versions of both tracks are found on the Canadian Harem CD and Canadian Limited edition CD/DVD set.
These 2 mixes are a bit fresher, and lighter. They are more accoustically arranged, to make an airy, "alternate" instrumentally inspired version. What makes these 2 tracks fresher, is their slightly more upbeat, rounder edged background guitar and percussion.
I find that on the Harem CD, the 2 songs are heavier, and have a somewhat more "classical" touch to them.
But as always, Sarah Brightman's voice is angelic. I simply love this song, in both English and french. It's really sentimental, and probably, if not the most, it has to be the second most touching of all the tracks on Harem.
As I hoped, Capitol Music decided to house the disc in a slimline jewel case. It's so much more practical than wasting paper for a digi-pack. Especially for 2 songs.
Like all of Sarah's music releases, "What you never know" is vibrantly designed and colored in rich pinks, gold and lots of flowers. Sarah's lying on her back, in the sand, strewn with rose petals. You can't get much more ethereal than this! This has to be sarah's most unique design for a CD single. Let's hope she does many more CD singles like this, and a whole lot better too!
Well, there's not much else to say. Go and buy it! Add it to your collection!
