Nice and simple,

This review is from: What I Read Mini Journal (Potter Style) (Hardcover)
I've used other journals to record the books I've read and so far, for me, this journal has been the best.
About 85% of the journal is utilized for recording just what the title suggests--those books that you've read--with space on each page for thoughts and comments. Scattered throughout these pages (after approx. every 15th entry), there are two pages dedicated to a variety of topics, such as "Books I want to read" or "Authors I adore" or "Quotes to remember." In many other journals I've used, extra sections like these are given pages and pages of space that I've never used. Two pages for such sections seems just enough, so that the rest of the journal can be used merely as a record of one's readings. The journal is small (about 4 inches by 3.5 inches) and light weight, making it good for toting around. It's also nicely presented. Additionally, scattered throughout the journal are short quotes or tidbits about reading, stories or books. The downside of the journal: Some readers may find that the five lines offered for comments is not enough. Also, there are not tabs delineating each new section, so it may be a little bit of a search to find those titles or thoughts recorded under sections like "Books I want to read" or "Stories I want to share." I would buy this journal again.

This review is from: What I Read (Red) Mini Journal (Hardcover)
I read all the reviews of various book journals, ordered 3 and kept this one. It is very portable and simple. The criticism that it's hard to find the special sections like "Recommendations" is valid -- I fixed this by adding my own little sticky post-it note tabs on the edges of pages I might want to be able to find. I find that I don't have a whole lot to say about each book so there's enough room on each page for my needs -- I just make a few notes, I'm not writing a review or complex analysis. If you need prompting questions or wish to write a lot about every book, this one is probably not for you.

almost perfect,

This review is from: What I Read Mini Journal (Potter Style) (Hardcover)
I have been using this style of journal for the last 3 years. I love it, there is room for many books, great way of keeping up with what I've read. My only complaint is the elastic band used to keep the book closed. Mine snapped after a couple of weeks of (gentle) use. Other than that, I have no complaints. =]
