From School Library Journal

Grade 4-7-Krull describes the typical facts that are presented in most works about UFOs and a possible alien crash near Roswell, NM, in 1947. Various government explanations for debris found on a ranch managed by Vernon "Mac" Brazel are included. Pilot Kenneth Arnold's "flying saucer" sighting in the same year is recounted briefly as well. Whimsical alien faces and hands plus bowler-hat-shaped spaceships peek out of every corner of the pages. Humorous full-page pencil drawings, including one depicting three aliens heading for the Roswell Diner, alternate with more straightforward illustrations of the topics. This volume also has a serious side, featuring an 11-item bibliography and a listing of five well-chosen Web sites. This appealing package offers standard information about the long-standing mystery, but the subject is lightened by the playful art.
