Successful Business Tips.....In a Nutshell!!!,
By Ronnie Atlas (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: What Rich People Know & Desperately Want to Keep Secret (Hardcover)
Brian Sher's entry first into the the realm of business books brings with it a wealth of information. Simple ideas, clearly stated and easily adopted is what his book 'What Rich People Know and Desperately Want to Keep Secret' is all about. He explains the basics, what each individual can contribute or needs to do, how to put in place ideas and concepts that will work, how to manage the business and people and how to deal with the day to day things that occur in every business....to achieve greater successfully. Passing on many of the tips he has learned and used in his own life, he gives us the secrets of building a successful business and/or life. Wonderful ideas that turn one off customers into lifelong friends, multiple purchasers and walking ambassadors for your business. Everyone after reading this book, will walk away with dozens of practical ideas that can be easily incorporated and practically implemented. It is information written in simple language that can be adopted by every business person. Best of all, Sher gives you a money back guarantee and his email contact if the book doesn't contribute solidly to their business. This guy actually practices what he preaches!!! Have a look and tell me there's not something for everyone. I wish the ideas offered in all business books were this easy to read, understand and implement. Brian emphasises the need to continue improving oneself, through reading, learning, adopting new ideas, watching others and remaining informed. Also he promotes flexiblity, durability, service, honesty, planning, goal setting and many other areas needed by business people to ensure success. He stresses the need to be True to Oneself in business and life and if you really want it, work hard (and smart) to attain it. I'll be recommending it to all my friends whether self-employed or looking to forge a career for themselves. Through his common sense ideas and simple teachings, who knows how many lives Brian Sher will change for the better and the amount of success that will flow as a result.

One of the finest entrepreneurial how-to books ever written. Buy this book right now.,

I am shocked that anyone could have rated "What Rich People Know" anything less than FIVE STARS. As a three-time published author and owner of two successful businesses that I started from the ground up, I can speak from personal experience that this book is essential reading for all entrepreneurs. True: it is not a -how-to-get-rich-quick book (which is what a lot of critics were probably looking for), but it is probably one of the finest entrepreneurial business textbooks I have ever read. And as anyone who has read Robert Kiyosaki knows---running your own business is the most-surefire way to riches on the planet. As I redesign the business plan and strategy for my own business, the Unstoppable Artists Business School in Manhattan, I decided to re-read this excellent book. I thought I had underlined all of its wisdom the first time around. I was mistaken, and now the book is nearly illegible from all of the marks and comments I have made to nearly every page. If you run your own business or are in PMA (Publicity, Marketing, Advertising) in any capacity, your breadth of knowledge and wisdom will sky-rocket by reading this book. Some of the reviews are on-target when they say that he doesn't 'give you ideas'. But that's sort of the whole point in business: UNIQUENESS. If author Brian Sher gave you all the 'ideas', then your business would not be unique in any way. You benefit primarily from this book's inspiration. As you read it--if you are open to such--your OWN ideas will start popping into your head with every turn of the page. Brilliant ideas. Wild ideas. Crazy Ideas. Subtle ideas. Simple ideas. But ideas nonetheless. What rich people know is this: YOU NEED TO START AND RUN A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OF YOUR OWN IN ORDER TO BECOME AS RICH AS YOU INTEND IN YOUR DREAMS. This book will inspire and instruct you in doing just that.ROMP ON! -Monroe Mann Founder, Unstoppable Artists Business School Author, "The Theatrical Juggernaut - The Psyche of the Star", among others

Follow the advice in this book to achieve success,

This book has a poor title but great content. I don't know how secret the ideas are, but it's full of very useful information. Brian Sher lays out techniques that rich people use to become successful. I usually highlight books that I read to capture interesting parts. This book has more highlighting then most of the books I've read. I believe that if you follow just 5% of the ideas listed you will become successful. The problem with most books of this type is that the information is excellent, but how do you incorporate the techniques into your life? I identified 275 interesting things you can do to increase your chances of success. The book touches on some of the following: and much more.

It's rare that I give a 3-star rating for a book and I (almost) never listen to the low-star comments/feedback from other readers. I should have listened in this case. The book starts out very promising. He makes you believe that he will be presenting some solid, workable information later on in the book. Except that solid, workable information never manifests itself. He just goes on and on about basic, common sense business practices that anyone who has ever run a small business, even a home-based business, would know. If you have no business experience then maybe you should invest in this book, except that it won't give you all the info you need. Not by a long shot. It's good for inspirational value for a newbie in business or someone aspiring to own a business (who never has in the past) but, if you are serious about starting a business and need the bricks and mortar info to get you started, you need other books too like Michael Gerber's E-Myth Revisited (highly, highly recommended!), not just a bunch of inspirational hype like this guy presents. Decent book but if you have even marginal experience in business then you may want to pass on this one.

The book "What rich people know..." is a great book. I bought it with a little skepticism in my mind (I don't like anybody selling me a "secret" of any kind), and I was very very positively surprised when I started reading the book. The author is very methodical in his approach; he takes the complicated multi-layered information of business world, and brakes it down into small peaces. Very easy to absorb and to digest. I was very happy to read the book because it gave me a great insight in what I'm missing to do and in what way can I be better in my work. The biggest help of all was the fact that author is not only speaking about theoretical aspects of doing business, but he also gives examples so the content is always firmly grounded in reality. I think this book is a must have for all us who never had formal education in such things as people management, organization structures, using leverages... Brian, thank You for writing this marvelous peace. I feel like my eyes were more open every time I finished reading next chapter.

Some common sense advice,
This review is from: What Rich People Know & Desperately Want to Keep Secret (Paperback)
This one is nicely put together, some good examples, easy to read. I think it's all common sense, really, so I have no idea what anyone would be desperate to keep secret - I suppose it's a catchy title so you'll buy the book. You're not going to learn much new here (unless you don't really know anything about money and its creation to start with!) Still, I have spent several happy hours with this book - it is, at least, an easy and entertaining read, and it doesn't help to be reminded about 'the basics.'

The name of the book is deceivingly me-too. I would not have read it were it not recommended by a local newspaper. It turned out the it was surprisingly good stuff. The best part - it is all common sense, so convincing but at the same time so enlightening - classic wisdom.

As a learner, I been reading few tens of business/self improvement books. This is an excellent book that covers a wide area of knowledge in working towards Richest in Life and Business. And, this book is pretty concise and to the point, which make it easy to read. One personal comment is that... I don't quite like the second part of the title as ...-> "Desperately want to keep secret." In my view, I think that Only those people who may be "monetary rich" while definitely "mentally poor" will do that. But then again, it could be the author marketing skill to name it that way...> as human curiosity nature likes to see other's secret.

Is THIS what rich people know and want to keep secret? I doubt it, unless the message was to just go into business and stay there. This book was nothing but common-sense business strategies that a 3-year-old could tell you.<sigh>...more fireplace fodder...<sigh> You get much better info by reading Thomas Stanley's books. He actually INTERVIEWS rich people and gets their secrets. Here's one that more useful than this whole book: buy a laundromat or car wash. They're low-key businesses that get used by a lot of people, and those quarters really add up! Here's another: own a junk yard. Those "wreck" vehicles make more money for you as separate PARTS than the whole vehicle was ever worth or ever cost to purchase a a hulk. Move along...nuttin' to see here. Go see Thomas Stanley's works for useful info. You'll thank me later. |
