5.0 out of 5 stars Just a great CD!, March 3, 2000

Just a great CD!This is really one of Richie's best song writing efforts yet.If you are looking for the guitar shredding album then this is not it.Do not get me wrong he still has some very tasty solos but this is very much a song oriented CD.The stand out tunes are the title track,"You Don't Owe Me","Locked Out" w/Pat Torpey & Billy Sheehan,& "Strength".I know the price is a little scary, but it is not like this is ever going to pop up at your local Cd store in the cheap bin!

5.0 out of 5 stars The consumate blend of voice and guitar., October 29, 1998

It's a shame that very few people know of Richie Kotzen. They are truly missing a brilliant musician. His voice is without question one the best I've ever heard. Songs like "Angie", "You Don't Owe Me" & "You've Got A Fire" speak for themselves. His guitar playing is equally stunning. Very few musicians have the whole package and Richie is definitely one of those few. In this world of talentless crap like The Spice Girls & Backstreet Boys, Richie is a much needed breath of fresh air. BUY IT!!! In fact, buy ALL his albums.

I actually bought this CD a couple of years ago as an import. It is easily the best work of Kotzen's to date. Quite a range of sounds from sweet and melodic to pure rock and roll in the form of The Stones or Black Crows. As always superb guitar work and vocals.

Richie has outdone himself again with this exceptional album. Both his dynamic voice and melodic riffs seem to get better and better. This is a must-have for all Richie Kotzen fans.

His bluesy taste went deeper and deeper. Now RICHIE can control his emotions at his own sweet will. His vocal style shows R&B tatste influenced by many soul musics. Not so commercial but profoundly emotional. Not so may guitar chops, but a lot of graceful prayers are in this album.Irreplaceable sweet emotions are to be heard. His guitar play got improved by far.
