A very thought provoking and an amusing book!, July 11, 2005
The title caught my attention, and after glancing at this book I picked it up. Southern women have always been known for their hospitality and their way to get things done in life. Working with a lovely southern coworker who could literally sell ice to the devil I picked up this book.
What I liked about this book is that flirting isn't just romantic, but she also categorizes as social. You may flirt with someone socially, but not have an intimate relationship with them. You might also think of this book as how to schmooze. She is careful to demonstrate ways of being extra polite, and lightening someone's day. Flirting, in her terms is playful, fun, and both parties enjoy the exchange.
She discusses how she has gotten out of tickets, exchanged phone numbers, and has thanked people in variety of ways, with both people walking away feeling very happy. So, this book covers more than flirting with a romanitc partner, but also how to get along wonderfully with everyone you meet in life, and who of us couldn't use a little more of that?

From a Woman in the North with Southern Parents..., September 22, 2005
My parents are Southerners but I was born in Detroit, so I missed out on the social flirting and courtship flirting part of my "Southern education". I gleaned what I could from my mother and grandmother, but since my parents divorced when I was young, I didn't often see the many ways to flirt. I took it upon myself to learn, but the only thing I noticed was seductive flirting. After reading "What Southern Women Know Flirting" I learned which flirting technique to use in what situation (social, courtship, and seductive). I don't feel bad about it because I know what is and what is not appropriate, which is really important for a girl who's about to enter the workplace.
For the GOOD STUFF: I've gotten more than a few dates using Ms. Rich's courtship techniques and of course, I call them honey, sugar (sugah), baby...they love it. I love it too! Men love to be men and treat ladies like ladies, so let them. My Grandmother laughs at me now because she never thought she'd live to see the day I'd call a man "sugah."

BRAVO!!!, May 8, 2005
I read about this book in the newspaper and thought I'd give it a shot since I'm a 32-year-old single career woman. Wow! I got much more than I bargained for. This book gives plenty of good advice on achieving success in life in all areas -- personal, professional and social. It is divided into three sections: Social Flirting, Courtship Flirting, Seductive Flirting. In social flirting, Ronda Rich talks about the courtesy and friendliness that draws people to you and makes them want to associate with you. Quite simply, social flirting, she says, is the art of making others feel good about themselves so that they feel good about you. Hmmm. Simple concept but so true. The book was well worth the money just for the tips it gave in that section.
Then, the book becomes a progressive guide for flirting. In Courtship Flirting, Ronda stresses that moving quickly into an intimate will sabotage long-term success because men are born hunters and lose interest if they capture the game easily. Makes a lot of sense to me.
Of course, the section of Seductive Flirting doesn't need alot of explanation but she makes a major point in this section that may rattle traditional feminists: Baby your man and he'll baby you. But, not at the cost of losing your power in the relationship which she cleverly explains in the chapter titled Rule The Roost But Pamper The Rooster.
I enthusiastically endorse this book from the first page to the last. Perfect for single women and those who want to climb the ladder of success and those who want to be the best wives possible. Every woman can benefit from the advice in this book.
Don't miss this jewel!!!
