Harold Klemp's "What is Spiritual Freedom' should be considered as a practical guidebook to the Godhead devoid of all the Oriental mumbo jumbo that we are used to reading. Like all his books before this - and after it too, he brings a simplified version of how to attain spirituality in our daily lives. Simple stories, anecdotes, personal experiences of the author and other members of his Eckankar sect are the tools he uses to discuss God with the uninitiated. One wonders what had been difficult about achieving Spiritual Freedom all along! Harold makes us see that a spiritually free person is not necessarily the guru who sits in one spot for years in contemplation but rather is you and me- in every thing we do in life-our very life! I read the book about a month ago on loan from a friend who is a member of his sect and I actually came to check online for other books by the author. Its been difficult to dismiss what one has read, there is a resounding feeling of truth about the whole thing. After years of trying to find spiritual freedom- trying to do the RIGHT THING by God, its almost a relief to know that one has been doing very well all along though with plenty of room for improvement!
