Book Description

Monica Witte has life the way she likes it. She comes home to be babied every few months and the rest of the time she has no strings holding her back. But after her horse is injured in a rodeo performance, Monica knows it's time to come home and face her family - warts and all.

Trickett Samuels works best on his own. The large-animal vet likes his quiet life in the Texas countryside. When Monica Witte blows into town demanding a quick fix to her horse's big issues, his life is turned upside down. Trickett doesn't understand Monica's need to perform before perfect strangers or why she wants to keep the truth of their relationship from her family. And the more he gets to know her, the more he wonders if he can convince this Texas girl that having roots will only help her soar higher.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pack in your beach bag June 24, 2013
By Julie
Format:Kindle Edition
When I was approached by the author to review What a Texas Girl Dreams, I hesitated for about a millisecond. How could I turn down a book about a vet and a rodeo star with an injured horse? I couldn't! I can't resist books with horses, even though they are becoming the bane of my existence (yes, Elle, I am referring to you).

Monica Witte competes on the rodeo circuit, and she likes her life just the way it is. Living out of a suitcase, racing barrels with her trusted horse Jinx, hooking up with no commitments when the mood moves her. After she meets Trick, a large animal vet practicing in her small hometown in Texas, her mind is more on the man than on the barrels. After Jinx is injured at a rodeo, she sets aside her pride and heads back home, hoping the rehab her horse and then hit the road again. But when Trick examines Jinx, the prognosis isn't good. He suggests that Jinx's career might be over, but Monica won't accept that. She thinks that Trick is trying to keep her in Lockhardt, close at hand. When therapy sessions don't seem to be helping, Monica starts to worry that he might be right. Then she starts itching to be home in Austin, training her other horse, despite her feelings for Trick. She just wants to be on the road again, safe from her confusing feelings for him. She's not cut out for a long term relationship, and being in Lockhardt has her so confused she doesn't know what to do.

At first, I did not like Monica. She seemed so selfish to me. It's obvious that her horse has a catastrophic injury, but she doesn't want to accept it. Instead, she thinks that Trick is just trying to make her stick around so they can continue the affair that she started with him a few weeks ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars Texas Steam June 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the third in the Texas Girl series, and it's a LOT hotter than the other two. Monica Witte can't keep her hands of veterinarian Trickett Samuells. What's not to like about a man who bottle feeds kittens? Nothing, and Monica gets it on with the oh-so-hot vet every chance she gets, but she doesn't want anything permanent.

I wasn't as crazy as about Monica at first. She's selfish, spoiled and has BIG commitment issues. Her motivation is clear, but at times she's so unreasonable you might want to shake her out of it.

You won't have to because Trick's steady-on-the-course personality and did I mention hotness does the trick and brings Monica around to his way of thinking...life with him might not be so bad after all!

A love affair as scorching as the Texas summer sun...it doesn't get any better than that!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! June 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wow, good thing it wasn't a roll in the hay, or Monica Witte and Trick Samuels would've set the barn on fire from the very first chapter! We are so very lucky to return to Texas's own Double Diamond Ranch and enjoy the sparks that have such a great time flying around the Witte women. Third sister Monica is about to have her world turned on its head as she grapples with balancing want and need, until she discovers they both reside in the same place. The story is fun and captivating, Texas (of course) is fabulous, and Ms. Knight's love for, and portrayal of Americana in the shape of a horse makes this reviewer want to cheer, then go for a trail ride. Well done.

I purchased this book online and have given this review freely and without monetary compensation.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Star Review - Hot & Steamy! June 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
In What a Texas Girl Dreams, Monica Witte has the life she wants just the way she wants it. She is out on the road as a barrel racer and libing independently from her family on her own in Austin, every few months Monica goes home for a little while to be pampered and spend time with her family. But mainly she goes home to be close and get some attention from Trickett Samuels.

Trickett Samuels is happy living in Texas and he is so close to having his own practice, for when the current vet retires he will be taking over completely and the practice will be his. The only problem is Monica Witte. From the moment he met her she has been teasing him and leaving him dry. He had to resort to buying and using a punching bag to get rid of his frustrations.

Now due to an accident Monica has to return home with her horse Jinx. There is no better place to rehabilitate her horse than her family's ranch. She is not willing to stay there permanently, but she will stay as long as she has to, to rehabilitate her horse. The only problem is that the man she cannot stop lusting after and the man she started a very secret affair with is now close at all times.

As Trick tries to help rehabilitate Jinx, he knows that he will not be able to race anymore and that is something that Monica will not take lightly. But he also needs to convince her to give them a chance, because while he is in with his whole heart she only wants to give him her body when he wants everything she has to give.

Monica will have to face her childhood traumas and realize that she is not a duplicate of her father and that she can have everything if she is willing to give everything in return. While Trick will have to learn that sometimes a little tough love is necessary to get through Monica's defenses.

More About the Author

Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running from car crash to fire to meetings with local police--no, she wasn't a troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United States, writing about everything from a serial killer's capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Along the way she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy Boots and an abiding love for romance novels. Kristina writes contemporary romance with a smattering of sass, sex and (of course) drama, and she loves hearing from readers. And just like the characters from her favorite books, she's living her own happily ever after.
