About the Author
Rodney Garrett is a high school teacher that teaches history, social studies, math, special education, and is a certified administrator in the state of Virginia. Although he is a first time author, he was inspired to write through frustration and inspirational words from popular radio host Michael Baisden. He resides in the DC metro and Atlanta metro areas. Through his life, he has probably seen and done it all. You name it, and yes he has probably done it. Jail, been there. Married - hell, now he is divorced. Black college, he paid off his damn loans. Near fatal car crash, he still cannot see too damn straight. Fight, thats the hell why he went to jail! Fraternity, bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay. Military, you better not damn call him - he served his time. Thuggish - he is bald, tatted from the waste up, and was born on Martin Luther King Dr. Educated - he graduated so many damn times he actually lost count. Role model - all of his students love him to death. Playa - dammit he was weak! Mentor - it takes a strong brother to fill those shoes. Although he jokes alot, please understand that it took leadership, guidance, and love to bring him back to reality and straighten him up. If he can do it, so can you, and you, and anyone else that you take under your wing and lead. We challenge you America to guide our black youths to a positive lifestyle, future, and career.
