This is literally one of those books that you won't be able to put down until you finish it. And thanks to the author's website, you will be able to see photos and videos of the places he writes about in this book. I hope that more travel writers will adopt this philosophy. I have lent this book to several friends who have enjoyed it as much as I did.

This book is very well written and easy to read...you feel like you are sitting down with "chesterh" and he's just casually telling you how his vacation went. It's even like you are visiting the ports right along side him ~ well minus the sunscreen of course. This is definetly the kind of book that you won't want to put down. The author does an excellent job of communicating the insecurity and anticipation that we all have before we set sail for the first time. I highly recommend this book for cruise junkies... and for the those who dream of becoming one.

I enjoyed the laughs this book gave me. As a novice cruiser, it made me look at the lighter side of planning our dream vacation. The story begins with to cruise or not. Those are the same thoughts,and yes,even the same words Ive had with my own spouce.The book tells it like it is,from the authors persepctive. There are some funny episodes to laugh along with.My favorite had nothing to do with his cruise,but rather his nanny making bread. "Chester" is just a regular guy,so this story is easy to read.He gave us a great story of his first cruise! I enjoyed this book very much. I even mailed a copy to my travel agent. For would be cruisers and even the pros I reccomend this book.

It's fun and informative! An easy read that takes you step by step through the cruising experience. We cruise about 3 times a year. Crystal, Regent, Seabourn and most often Holland America. Now we want to try Celebrity!

I bought this book before our first cruise to try to get an idea on what to expect. "Chester" does a great job at telling about his cruise. The book is a great read with a wonderful insight into what a cruise passenger can expect. Chester's writing style makes the book a fun and easy read that makes it hard to put down. I gained some great insight on what to expect on our cruise and now after taking ours I can attest to accuracy of Chesters tale. Although we were on a different cruise line we had many funny moments like Chester along with a great trip.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to cruise or wanting to re-live their cruise.

I read this book in a matter of hours, right before I went on a very similiar cruise - my first. The book was hilarious & very informative with good tips. It was so enjoyable and easy to read. Good for anyone that is interested in taking a cruise or has been on a cruise.

This is a story about a couple's first cruise and I was concerned that as a long-time "cruiseaholic", I might think it stupid or boring. But I'm really glad I gave it a chance. It is very quick reading and very funny. I saw myself on some of my past cruises doing the things the author described and that made it even funnier. I think it would be very enjoyable for someone contemplating cruising for the first time. If they read this book, they will want to go! It made me smile whenever I read a chapter.

Fun read. This book can be polished off in a night or two. Good for the beginner cruiser with lots of fun detail. Enjoy!

This was an enjoyable documentation of what a cruise is about. It was interesting to hear of their experience and comparing what we encountered on our cruises. Especially good reading for first time cruisers.
