The book is based on the answers veterans gave to students' questions about the war, about what it was like to serve in Vietnam, and about the exerpiences and feelings of the veterans while they served and after they returned to the United States. Films and books about the war tend to be filled with such filthy language that it is impossible to give them to our children. This book answers a lot of questions about what it was like to fight in Vietnam without the unacceptable language. The War in Vietnam is ancient history to high school students who do not have any memory of the Cold War. This book presents the accounts of people who fought there so students can have some insight into the experience.
