This has to be one of the best Christmas cd's put out this year. Singing with the big band sound simply works and Leann Rimes voice in superb hitting all those winderful soft and high notes. Simply amazing with delight and wonderful joy listening to this Christmas cd. Best version ever of What A Wonderful World! A must have to add to anyone's Christmas cd collection. Enjoy and Have A Safe and Wonderful Holiday Season.

Vocal powerhouse LeAnn Rimes' ten-track collection is a lush, string-laden affair dominated by modern chestnuts like "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," "The Christmas Song"and "White Christmas." My favorite recordings on this set are her take on Vince Vance & the Valiants' "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and a stirring rendition of "O Holy Night" (the only hymn included here) that was previously included on her Greatest Hits. The new holiday tunes offer some diverse subject matter: the socially conscious "A Different Kind Of Christmas," the seductive "Just Love Me," and the poignant "Miss You Like Christmas. As usual, LeAnn sounds great throughout. I only wish the cd was a little longer.

LeAnn has recorded music in various styles (pop, country and gospel) during her career but this Christmas album is mainly a pop collection. The only religious song here is O holy night (a superb rendition that closes the album) while the only country offering is A different kind of Christmas (a very sad song, this is one of three original songs that LeAnn co-wrote for the album). Two tracks (Rocking around the Christmas tree, All I want from Christmas is you) feature a big band arrangement with saxophones, trumpets and trombones. The remaining songs generally feature string arrangements. LeAnn is in fine voice throughout.

Of the songs, the three originals (A different kind of Christmas, Just love me, Miss you like Christmas) are all worth hearing, while I was particularly pleased at the inclusion of Santa baby (an Eartha Kitt original) - I haven't heard many versions of this song although Kylie Minogue and Madonna have both recorded it. The title track isn't really a Christmas song but fits in well and LeAnn makes a great job of it.

This is a great Christmas album that everybody can enjoy. Well, from the other reviews, it seems not quite everybody, but I enjoy it and I am happy to recommend it to you. NOTE - although Santa baby is on my British version of the album, it is apparently not included on the American version.

When first reviewing the track list for this CD, I was convinced I would not be overwhelmed with the product. However, after carefully auditioning the CD, I realized the quality of the musical production combined with the sheer vocal talent of Ms.Rimes result in the creation of a new seasonal classic. The "big band sound" provides listeners with the experience of unleashing a backlash of memories from holiday seasons of the past. Ms Rimes is a gifted vocalist who is perfectly suited to tackle most musical arenas and this CD is the perfect example. The CD is a sure bet for all wanting to revitalize their holiday musical library. Her version of such classics as HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS are emotionally powerful, sweet and touching. You won't regret purchasing this one!

After watching Biography on LeAnn, I bought a few CD's for my wife. This one must have played a thousand times! She has a wonderful original style and amazing voice in general. It has a country feel, and although I rarely listen to country music, I / we really enjoy this CD.

A great mixture of Classic Holiday songs. With 10 tracks (11 with the Target Exclusive Bonus Track "Santa Baby") this album has 8 (9 with "Santa Baby") 2 brand new song she co-wrote: "A Different Kind Of Christmas" & "Just Love Me" (which her husband, Dean Sheremet also co-wrote with her).

I think LeAnn Rimes deserves a big round of applause for this great CD.

WOW sums up this album. The songs are inspired and the singing is as sweet as Rimes has ever been. The Song "A Different Kind of Christmas" is absolutely the most moving Christmas song that I have heard in years. It is beautiful, artful, and the lyrics are from the heart. This is an album that is destined for great things.

Ms Rimes has given us a great Christmas selection of music that needs to be heard time and time again. Great vocals with an interesting blend of styles and themes for listening througout the holidays. Seasonal music should be played dozens of times withen a few weeks without becoming stale. This album gets better every time you hear it! Some of the songs don't seem to "fit" the first or second time you hear them, but keep playing and listening, and you will be rewarded with an outsanding collection of music! Happy Holidays!!

WOW, This album is so good.....It really puts you in a world of nothing' but pure Christmas time. The live band on this ablum is super and I say this is most defenitly LeAnn at her best. The artwork and songs are fantastic..I can't put it away and quit listening..its that good! :-) If your wanting a real Christmas feeling then this cd is for you. My favorite tracks are ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS, SANTA BABY, A DIFFERENT KIND OF CHRISTMAS, JUST LOVE ME, and MISS YOU LIKE CHRISTMAS. LeAnn sure does deserve a round of applause and 2 thumbs up for this album..YOU GO LE!! :-)
