An ambitious book that details the headlines, advertisements and daily life of 1950. The perfect gift for someone born (or married) in 1950. Just like a trip in the way-back machine. Great facts like average salaries, grocery & housing prices, etc. Fascinating photos of the cars and fashions of the era.
Also proves to be a painless way to teach your kids the recent history of the USA.
Minus one star for a couple of factual errors (misspelling Katharine Hepburn's name, no less). Not the most appealing to the eye with some pages including many different fonts. Entirely B&W.

Excellent quick reads... Facts and figures from a bygone era. This is a wonderful way to commemorate a special birthday. I have purchased two other books from this series. The recipient is always highly amused.

The book was purchased gently used, and it was quite the find. However, when I tried to purchase a new one from Amazon.com, the price kept coming up 10 times that which it should be. I called customer service to report the error and no one seemed to care. It's like they're robots. They kept saying the seller puts that info in. I just wonder how much sales you've lost because of it.

Thanks. The book was used as a birthday gift. The birthday person loved the book. The book arrived in plenty of time.
