Deacon Blue grows up, March 4, 2001

Don't get me wrong, I love Deacon Blue, but they were obviously experiencing some growing pains by "Whatever You Say...". "What You Are" finds Ricky Ross stretching his wings a little and experimenting with the guitar sound of the 90s. And in my opinion he flies. Some stand out tracks are When Sinners Fall (featuring Ross singing in falsetto), Good Evening Philadelphia, and Love Isn't Hard It's Strong. If you love Deacon Blue, you'll like Ricky Ross's solo effort.
