Older book, but still relevant in today's economy, March 23, 2009
This review is from: What You Can Do to Help the Homeless (Paperback)
Although the book is from 1991, it offers great, concise, and easy ways for everybody (regardless of profession or income level) to help out. Not only is the book a great resource for creative ways to help the homeless, but it also gives some useful information regarding how to communicate with the homeless in a respectful manner and how to make life more enjoyable for homeless children. I particularly enjoyed the chapter encouraging lawyers to provide free legal services to the homeless, since I am a lawyer who has co-founded a grassroots, non-profit law firm, which provides free legal services to individuals in return for their performing community services for other local non-profits who need volunteers. It's well worth the read, and from the looks of the prices the book is selling for (i.e. one cent), it can definitely fit into any budget.
