5.0 out of 5 stars A book of success strategies., March 25, 2001
This review is from: So What If You Don't Have A Degree? (Mass Market Paperback)
Han Kok Kwang has written a very down to earth book which carries numerous valuable thoughts to succeed in one's career. Anyone planning their next transition in the workplace would find the book useful in learning the 'little' skills to be an achiever! Han points out some very real realities of working life and shares his thoughts of overcoming them. He has indeed put together success strategies for the rest of us.

As a fellow facilitator in people development and a Singaporean, I would strongly recommend Han's book as a 'must get' addition to your personal motivation toolkit!

4.0 out of 5 stars Realistic and Inspiring, July 15, 2000
This review is from: So What If You Don't Have A Degree? (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked up this book in the hope and thought it would give me options that to be successful in life you need a degree. I always felt insecure and second rate to my friends and colleagues who had degrees although I was more experienced and was able to perform better than them. I now know that to succeed in life you do not necessarily need a degree or having a degree does not guarantee success.

For non - degree holders like myself who are thinking who going for it or not, it gives options. It shows that having a diploma and not degree is not the end of the road. You can still come back and make something of yourself. The author's success story proves that hard work, attitude, the right friends will take you to the top. A degree may assist you in giving a headstart ( stronger footing ) but you won't reach there if you not going to work for it. The author has clearly shown that all of us have the skills to succeed and why we don't is also shown. There are also numerous quotes from many famous authors like Napoleon Hill which the author has chosen to get his points across to the reader. Some of them we have heard or read before but when they keep coming back you know it the means a lot.

For me, the poem by Anon is my favourite and I know that those who have picked up this book would not regret it.

The drawback is that it tends to concentrate on the education system in Singapore. But the message inside is universal.
