5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For Pastors and Church Leaders, May 28, 2008
This review is from: What Is Your Church's Personality?: Discovering and Developing the Ministry Style of Your Church (Paperback)
I have been in the ministry for over 30 years and this is one book that I wish I had when I started out. All the other books offer solutions that are one size fits all, but Douglass teaches a pastor how to understand how his or her particular church functions and how to respond to that kind of functioning in a healthy and productive way. Moreover, it allows the entire church board to do the evaluation and assessment as well, so all of the church leaders can be on board for what God is saying to their congregation. Pastors and church leaders should read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A valuable tool in the Pastoral search process., June 22, 2008
This review is from: What Is Your Church's Personality?: Discovering and Developing the Ministry Style of Your Church (Paperback)
This book has taught me a valuable lesson: personality of pastor and church is incredibly important if there is going to be a successful "marriage" between the two. Many troubles that erupt in a church do not fall under the category of the "spiritual" or "moral" but rather "personality". A good strategy that incorporates a means to evaluate the personality of the church and that of the pastor would be a wise decision on the part of any pulpit committee.
