Helped Us Get Through a Tough Time,

This review is from: What about Me?: When Brothers and Sisters Get Sick (Paperback)
Our 2 year old was having surgery, and it was difficult on the whole family, but especially difficult for our 5 year old. She couldn't understand why everyone was making such an issue about her little sister, and why she wasn't getting more attention. The book also helped me understand what she was feeling a little better. The surgery went well, and we all hope we don't need this book again, but it's nice to have just in case.

My little 2 yr. old grand daughter was diagnosed with leukemia last month and I bought this book for her big brother.Although the book seems like it would be for a child age 5 or older, he is only 3 and he likes this book. It is the one he picks for bed time reading every night now. My 2 yr. old grand daughter even listens carefully while I read this story, so maybe it isn't just for older kids.

We bought this for my niece after her sister was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. We were getting all this stuff for the newly diagnosed niece, and felt like we should get something for her sister too. We bought this book, and it was so depressing that we returned it and never gave it to my niece. We ordered her a book totally unrelated to anything sad, and gave it to her.

We were pleased with the book. It helped our daughters understand that they are not alone in the world. There are others brothers/sisters out there that also have sick siblings, too.
