5.0 out of 5 stars It Made Me Feel Like Dancing
Not Since Leo Sayer's smash mega-hit, "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing", have I felt so much like dancing. Thanks to this CD I now dance all the time. Since I'm a neurosurgeon, this has become a problem. But I'm willing to give up this silly doctor stuff so I can keep listening and DANCING. Needless to say--Buy this CD!

2.0 out of 5 stars I should have waited longer!
Sounds like China Crisis, O.M.D.,Duran Duran - before they made it big.
I bought this after listening to only a 30 second sample of " The Story of a Star"... catchy tune, BUT , the lyrics on this track are so 8th grade ! The other tracks are also as bad with little or no flow/meaning/sense. It's ok music with mostly ok(just ok) singing and harmonies...

I bought this after listening to only a 30 second sample of " The Story of a Star"... catchy tune, BUT , the lyrics on this track are so 8th grade ! The other tracks are also as bad with little or no flow/meaning/sense. It's ok music with mostly ok(just ok) singing and harmonies thoughout this album.
If you can buy just the single " The Story of a Star" - go for it. "Losing Control" starts off a winner then crashes with wandering thoughtless rhymes. "Never Surrender" kind of sound like Duran Duran - another cool tune, However, The author sings of giving in and turning to the dark side ---should have titled it " I Give, I Guess" or " Change is Good - I Think".

I gave it 2 stars because I liked the music. The vocals have potential. The lyrics are just mindlessly easy to remember. Save your bucks or buy one track if you can and make up your own mind. (Final note : I tried to give the cd to my [...] and she gave it back... )

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool for any Age, March 8, 2003
This review is from: What are you waiting for? (Audio CD)
As a High School Student, we are known for our harsh criticism, and we were skeptical when I brought this new CD to a party. But from the moment we heard the first track and started dancing we knew that it was an awesome CD, and a regular part of the dance mix at all parties after that. And the scariest part is my Mom loves it too. Who would have thought that a teenage HS student would be listening and loving the same music as his middle-aged mother? Either way, it is a great CD that I recommend highly.

When I first started listening I was quite impressed with the fact that I could understand the lyrics. Then the music took me back to when I was just a little younger and a bit more free than I am now. Dancing the night away, lyrics that made me feel like they were written for me. I was reminded of those great late nights out, dancing with friends, meeting guys and hanging out. It felt good to listen and be reminded of fun times. I am going to purchase the cd and be sure to play it for my teenage son, who has no idea what real fun is.Thanks Madrid

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, danceable Pop that makes you hum along, February 23, 2001
This review is from: What are you waiting for? (Audio CD)
My co-worker lent me this CD one afternoon and I left it in all day. Great dance/pop tunes with good production and fine singing make this one I'm going to buy for myself. You might compare it to up-tempo Pet Shop Boys or Depeche Mode on their lighter tracks.

You should try this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Where the hell did this band come from?, February 2, 2001

I hope I can find the right words to appropriately describe how good this CD is. Never before have I heard such insightful lyrics, that make me think of my club days back in the 80's when I was a young girl on the make, looking to hook up with a guy who can dance. Boy do I miss those days when dancing to more than 3 songs in a row meant that you were going home with that person. AAHHHH..the good old days. This is awesome dance music that will surely put you in the mood. I can't wait to play this at my next party and have everyone wonder,"Who the hell is this band?" I only wish I discovered them first. Thank you Madrid....I am your biggest fan...

Great Dance CD. Put it in CD Shuffle mode during a party with other popular dance CD's and a bunch of people asked who it was? Definately Stands Out!

Finally a CD that I can dance and sing to from start to finish. Not since Duran Duran and Depeche Mode, has a band had such a great British pop sound. If you enjoy 80's synth-pop music you will not be disappointed.
