I have a Motorla Cable modem in front of this device that supports -50Mb transfer speed, but this router is capable of supporting speeds higher than that. I have seen no interoperability issues thus far.

I bought the NetGear DM111PSPv2. I contacted NetGear directly and they recommended it. The combination gives the best 802.11n WiFi-DSL experience you can get right now. The WNDR4500 is a brilliant router.
