Dr. Davis is a licensed, clinical psychologist with thirty years of experience in the mental health field. He has worked extensively with depression, anxiety, and family conflicts. He provides mental competency testing for elders, support and help with aging parents and interpersonal difficulties. He is sensitive to the changes elders must face as they age and lose independence. He is experienced in helping to reduce conflicts among family members and others.

Dr. Davis has provided psychological counseling for people in crisis, suicide attempts, drug dependency, and emotional problems due to failing health. He has assisted many individuals to resolve conflicts with other members of their families.

Dr. Davis has taught communication skills and psychological theory and counseling at the community college and university level, and has conducted communication skills workshops. He has appeared in local newspapers, and local media to discuss current psychological issues. He has a broad range of experience with all ages. He served as a Board member of the Mental Health Committee of Marin County. He is a skilled mediator; often working with families to develop written plans to reduce conflict.

Dr. Davis has been in private practice in Marin County, California since 1976. He has worked extensively with local Doctors in the northern California community. Through developing close relationships with medical specialists, support groups and services, Dr. Davis has assisted many families with important community resources for elders.

Since founding AgingParents.com and Help With Elders.com with his wife Carolyn Rosenblatt, Dr. Davis has offered important emotional support and resources for family members caring for aging parents. The emotional burden in making critical decisions about aging parents, elder care and safety can often be overwhelming for concerned family members. Dr. Davis can assist with these difficult decisions. He provides one-on-one emotional support for the primary caregivers of elders, teaches coping skills, and helps the caregiver avoid burnout and overload.

Dr. Davis received his doctorate in Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 1980. He has worked in community hospitals with geriatric patients suffering from dementia, depression, and other psychiatric problems. As part of a comprehensive mental health team he has been actively involved in the assessment, treatment, and placement of clients in community treatment programs.

The book is very usefull - if you wanna do some learning and thinking your self. I use it as an anchoring point in my seminars. It is good because it allows me to interpret it - not just to follow it - and reach out for the concrete situation of the everyday worklife of the participants in my seminars.
