Amazing,

This review is from: What if.? My Story of Panic Attacks (Paperback)
I wish I could meet with this girl, she wrote an amazing book. It's the first book that says almost exactly how I feel and I can relate to it. All the other books I have read are too scientific. I believe in this book and I feel that this book will help me recover from my panic disorder. It's just soo nice to have someone out there that went through the same thing I went through and talks on my level. I only wish I could talk to her in person, I would ask more questions. Get this book, it is so worth it.

I've been suffering from panic attacks off and on for more than 10 years and feeling very isolated since family and friends don't know what it feels like. This book hit home and finally, I felt like I wasn't alone. I know many people suffer from panic attacks, but most of them do not write books about it. The books about panic attacks are usually written by psychologist or doctors who have NEVER had a panic attack so it's hard to trust in someone who hasn't been there. I have this book on my Kindle and go back to it often for some encouragement and support. After reading this book, I felt like I could face my fears and using the techniques really does help. I also wish i could speak/email this author to say thank you for being brave and writing this book. This is a great book for people who are having a difficult time facing their fears.

aside from some typos (don't know why they don't fix that, and I'm no grammar Nazi, it's just irritating for those that might not know what someone is trying to say) the author's story about the emotions she went trough and the fears she developed after having her first panic episode. Most of the things she mentions I have gone through, from fear of death (although it is still there and like she stated, that is everyone's fear whether it is small or huge) to swallowing pills and choking like mine is. When I fist started reading the book, she talked about "how special you are and blah blah blah, and I wasn't having any of it thinking that she's trying to lure me into the god stuff, until she went to the stuff that I could related to, from the moments of feeling not real, to doubting stuff and everything you've ever believed in. I do in fact recommend you get this book because it will help you realize that you're not alone in Panic and the experiences that one goes through- the one that makes you feel like you're from Mars. it has been very helpful and I'm going to give you another tip: there's a book called "hope and help for your nerves" by Claire Weekes( best book I've ever read on panic and anxiety), and she explains most symptoms and "solutions" similar to the author in "What if?...."

This little book is packed with useful and inspiring information.
It is written in a "no nonsense" style and gets right to the point. What you will discover, is that your are giving yourself these attacks for reasons you may not yet have discovered. I got a lot out of this little gem & I have red all the books. Highly recomended if you truly aim to get your life back

This book had good points, but it is very simple. Not really for someone that really stuggles with anxiety on a deeper level. Still has basics for everyone that has experienced anxiety.
