All I know is the largest embossing folder that I have is a 6" X 9", and it is made to put more than one small design in.

The plates measure 6 inches wide but I haven't seen an embossing folder any wider than 5 1/4 inches.

A
6" is the maximum thru width. Not all folders are that big- so many designs will be smaller. LOVE the easy portable features of this machine & that it folds up compact. I've been giving mine a workout :)
