I.C. Graves says:
Nah, maybe for child molesters. I'd say Mulholland Drive was closer to soft porn (with it's damn fine build up).

I have often thought that Lynch really wants to direct porn.

Agent Cooper says:
Wild at Heart and Mulholland Drive, are actually more like soft porn. FWWM, is more like a beautiful nightmare.

I think that, basically, the movie is the best movie about rape ever. OK, now I know that sounds really crass, but I really don't think there's a better way of saying it. It's so gut-wrenching, how Lynch just exposes the underbelly of small towns but gets the atmosphere just right. Blue Velvet just didn't do anything for me. I never felt invested in the film. FWWM, however, enthralled me from beginning to end, but I have to admit it REALLY gets going after the first 40 or 50 minutes. After that, it's pure hell. The scene where Laura walks upstairs to her room and sees Bob or finds her dad on top of her in bed are two of the scariest things I have ever seen. I think this is the greatest crazy film I have ever seen.
