I forgot, u can see the hardware version by checking inside settings. There's a small upgrade for it too. Visit tplink web page for it.

Version number is under the barcode, beneath the battery. Beware if you plan to use dd-wrt or openwrt software, version v2.x is ... 'differently compatible'. Mine is v2.2, purchased 12/2013. Apparently newer firmwares (for newer 3G/4G parts) create issues with mods. Read up.

Not sure, I don't see anywhere on the box or the hardward where it says V1 or V2. The model No. is TL- MR3040 I hope that answers your question.
