But Baby, I'm For Real...I'm As Real as Real Can Get,
By John P. Morgan "Light Coach" (Beautiful San Dimas, CA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get (Audio CD)
The title of this album is my theme song. Every time I walk into the room this song is played...actually, it isn't...but in my mind, it is. I love this album. If the only song on this recording was, Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get, I still would've bought it because that's an R&B/Soul classic right there...
What does a crazy white boy know about soul? Baby, I got soul coming outta my soul. I love this album. I listen to it all the way through at least twice aweek and I listen to the title track at least once a day. Don't believe me? Ask my wife. One time I put this thang on the CD player and just hit the repeat button. I played it continously for an hour. She came into the study and said very sweetly, "John, sweetie, if you don't play another song in the next few minutes, I'm gonna take the CD out of the player and huck it across the street..." So, keep it "real" and buy this...you'll be so glad you did... Well, I gotta go across the street and retrieve my CD. I hope it didn't get hurt any...

Total Jams old skool,
By
This review is from: Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get (Audio CD)
Boy I remember when this jam came out in 71. I wore the groves out on that Lp. It still rocks today. Man they dont make them like that anymore. With me it was Temps and the Dramatics all day long. So get back in that chair again, put the head phones on and jam. Out!

A Christmas gift in 1972...Still One of my Favorites,
By Jimi Mack (Millbrae California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get (Audio CD)
I was 14 years old on Christmas Day in 1972 when I received this LP from my sister. I knew the two main hits, "In The Rain" & the title track, but I also heard the songs "Hot Pants in the Summertime" & "Fall in Love Lady Love", on our local soul radio station, KDIA. 7 of the 8 tracks included on this Soul Masterpiece are "10's" in my book. All but the quirky "Gimme Some (Good Soul Music)" get's my highest score. Then again, there is something with the Dramatics that made them a bit "Different" from other soul groups at the time. I can't put my finger on it, but they almost had a "Garage" sound. But, that's my opinion.
If you're a fan of 70's soul music, this is a must have to add to or start your collection. Also, at the Visitacion Valley Jr. High School talent show in 1973, a band made up of students (the only one that I really knew from the band was Jerome Hawkins) played the song, "Hot Pants in the Summertime" to a roaring crowd of teenagers. What great times those were.
