5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than it's getting credit for..., October 12, 2002

As with a new Madonna movie, critics are always on top of their game to criticize and reject any new material from Whitney. She has tried to turn the tables and emphasize the effect that critics are having on her career and in the process, the critics have spun it into "a failed Whitney single." Justin Timberlake recycles Slave 4 You, and he is supposed to be the future of music, however "the Voice" speaks out and is lambasted. This is in fact an excellent song with even better remixes, Thunderpuss having outdone themselves since their take on "It's not Right...." A five star single, hands down

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't Get Mad, Get Even, September 21, 2003
This review is from: Whatchulookinat (Audio CD)
For Whitney Houston, the past few years remained as difficult and as unbelieveable as you could expect from her. Still, she has ways of still showing her voice, and what she has to say about doubters. That really goes the same with Whatchulookinat, the first song released from Whitney Houston's 2002 record, Just Whitney. The song is a letter the tabloids for stalking and assault from the victim's point of view, Whitney. The song is a lot tougher than any of Whitney's other songs. Still, she also expanded a bit more within her family on this song, with thanks from her husband, Bobby Brown. I think it is a good quality song, and just listening to two sides of the story, not one. I still think that a lot of fans abandoned her because of the National Examiner, but her voice is still as exciting as it was years ago. Still, if you haven't heard the song, get Just Whitney.

4.0 out of 5 stars DONT LOOK AT ME (BUT PLEASE BUY MY SINGLE)!, October 7, 2002

Well here we are, on the verge of a the first new Whitney product for years. After the re-packaging (and re're-packaging) of her greatest hits, Whitney readies herself for the inevitable criticism. The single version, and Bobby Brown remix are pleasant, if familiar, time wasters. The Full Intention mix turns the screws but lacks a serious brakdown / hands in the air moment. Thankfully Thunderpuss have taken this opporunity to turn out a classic mix which both follows, and breaks, their own club anthem rules. Other reviewers dont seem keen, but I would argue this is the best mix Thunderpuss have turned out in years and helps lift this single from 2 to 4 stars.
