This cd is just as good as I remember. I had the record back in the day and played it to death. I hadn't heard the songs for nearly 20 years. Even though my tastes have evolved into much harder music over the years, this was just so awesome to hear. Lyrically this is a very good record. The harmonies are so catchy, these songs will stay stuck in your head for days. This has a permanent place in my rotation and collection. If you are a fan of AOR or pop rock, this is for you.

Everything about this album is five star, absolutely great. I remember getting a dubbed UR60 cassette (vinyl transfer) copy of this years ago as a GNR fan who wanted to hear "Gilby's first album" and was actually dissapointed 'cause Gilby wasn't singing the songs... wow... years later, I got into guitar player Ryan Roxie and his band DPM and then the Electric Angels, and found out that this was basically the same band as EA, and remembered that I had a copy of the album, rewound the cassette and gave it a listed and slapped myself for not having seen the genious as a 14 year old in the 90's listening to it for the first time. The tape used to hiss and pop like crazy, and did score the original vinyl a few years back, and it's just as bad (good)... I was so glad to see that it has been re-issued on CD last year, 'bout time! The CD, although "remastered and reloaded" is actually a vinyl transfer as well, haha, so it still hisses like crazy when Kyle sings the letter "S" on the songs that would have been the end of the LP sides, "last radio show" and "lonely hearts" and what's nuts is the album is SO good that i still don't care that it's imperfect. ...so a review of the album, it's only 9 songs, seek out the other Candy CD "teenage neon jungle" which was released in 2003 by singer Kyle Vincent for a few extra bonus demos 'cause this isn't enough!!!
American Kix 5/5 great tune, depressing but hopeful, great album opener...
Turn it up loud 4/5 the live version is WAY better, but it's a great song, should have been their single...
Whatever happened to fun 5/5 the album's lone single, and true as the day is long
Last radio show 5/5 candy's EPIC power ballad, the death of rock and roll : (
Kids in the city 5/5 power pop punk teen angst!

What a trip down memory lane. Friend of mine recommended Candy, glad she did! Wish there was more than one album though. :)
