This book is one of few where the book sort of revolves around Lacey. The story shows a side of Lacey that not many readers have seen before, a nice, more loving side. For those of you who have never read a Sweet Valley Junior High book, Lacey is normally the snotty one making rude remarks and causing trouble. The story also told Kristin's take on everything that was happening when Lacey's real mom, Sonya, came to visit.
Some parts of the story were a little bit...not annoying, but not enjoyable either. Like when Kristin told Lacey that Kristin's mom said that Sonya was flighty, and not the nicest person in the world. Kristin told her what her mom said because she didn't want Lacey to get her feelings hurt by Sonya. I don't think a real friend would ever say something that hurtful to the other, but it did make the story more dramatic. I also wish that in some part of the story, Lacey would have told her dad or stepmom how she REALLY felt about her home life. Anyway, if you like Babysitters' Club, or have read other Sweet Valley Junior High books, I almost completely guarentee that you'll enjoy this book.

Okay, I guess the book was okay, but Over all they hardley even mentioned Lacey, really thier were like 15 pages about her and the rest about blue and Elizabeth joinin the volley ball team, and I think (It's my opinion) that it's stupidto mention that Lacey smokes, I mean it will bring a bad example to young readers; Oh, yeah whats the deal with the rad buisness? and all the fake macho stuff, Blue has to do and say throughout the book, Super Surfer DUDE! Please gimme a break! But over all, I guess it was pretty good, but definatley not a keeper, but it's good to read it outta the libary, don't spend your money on theis book, in my case I tottally regret it!!! :)

If you like Lacey Frells, this book is for you. It's mostly about how her mom comes back for a visit and isn't exactly like what Lacey thought she'd be. Lacey gets all excited when her mom invites Lacey to come live with her, then is broken hearted when her mom changes her mind at the last minute. Personally, I'm glad. As much as I don't really care for Lacey, I'm glad she's seeing what a horrible person her mom is and that she's headed down the same road. Meanwhile, Kristin and Bethel have a bunch of fights while trying to get the carnival set up. Both are leaders and it's still hard for Bethel to follow Kristin's commands... even though Kristin doesn't TRY to be bossy... Also, Liz is starting to hang with Blue and the volleyball groupie now, but when she tries to get the 'mellow' group organized, disaster strikes! I don't blame Liz for trying to get things together- if I were her, though, I'd seriously quit the team all together. I mean, she said she wanted to join the team to get to know new people, but all we've really heard about is Leaf and Blue. And I think Blue is pretty annoying- he was one character who shouldn't have been added, I think. Anyway, this was an okay book, but it's not necessary to read or anything. If you're a Jessica and Damon fan like me, you won't find ANYTHING about them (especially Damon) in 16, 17 and 18.

Poor Lacey!,
This review is from: Whatever (Sweet Valley Jr. High No. 17) (Paperback)
Lacey is my absolute favourite SVJHer. I like her because of her personality. In this book, Lacey's birth mother, Sonia, visits and she and Lacey spend some time together. Sonia invites Lacey to go to NY to live with her, and Lacey's all excited. Kristin's mother knew Sonia when she use to be a modal, and said that she's "flighty" and "makes her own rules". Then Sonia got a job offer, and backed out of their plans, which leaves Lacey hurt, but she tries to deny it. Maybe Victoria and Lacey will have a better relationship because Victoria sounded concerned and sympathetic at the end (not to Lacey, tho, she was talking to Kristin.).Also in the book, Blue is introduced. He's a surfer-type guy who's brother, Leaf, coaches the school volleyball team, which Liz joins.

WHATEVER OR NOT?,

This review is from: Whatever (Sweet Valley Jr. High No. 17) (Paperback)
IN THIS BOOK, LACEY HAS TO MAKE A BIG DESCISION. EVERYONE KNOWS HOW UNHAPPY LACEY IS AT HER HOME WITH HER FATHER, VICTORIA, AND PENELOPE. WHEN AN UNEXPECTED PHONECALL IS RECEIVED FROM HER BIRTH MOM, LACEY IS ALL EXCITED, BECAUSE SHE KNOWS SHE CAN GET AWAY FROM THE DUMP THAT SHE CALLS HOME. I WON'T SPOIL THE REST OF THE BOOK FOR ANYONE, BUT THIS BOOK SHOWS HOW LACEY HAS TO MAKE A BIG DESCISION, THAT CAN CHANGE HER WHOLE LIFE. IT ALSO SHOWS HOW HER DAD AND VICTORIA CAN PROVIDE A SECURE SHELTER UNTIL SHE'S READY TO GO OUT IN THE WORLD. WHO WILL IT BE? HER DAD AND VICTORIA? OR A GALMOROUS MOTHER WHO DOESN'T GET INVOLVED IN HER LIFE? FIND OUT IN WHATEVER.

I always get these books in the mail or at a bookstore. This one I was really exctied about snice Lacey would meet her mom, her real mom. Who wants hr to come back to New York with her. THen bailes out on her. Then they never talked about Salvador. Even though Elizabeth did meet a new guy named Blue. Who was crushing on her. And whom she was crushing on. But all I wanna know about this situation is what's up with Blue and Elizabeth. And what Salvador would think about this. It is very intersiting that she decided to add a new charactor and make him crush on Elisabeth. But it's a GREAT book a I say you get it, LIKE RIGHT NOW!
