Cheryl Lynn has recorded numerous LP's. Among them, this one is what I considered one of her best in recent years. "UPSET" is the opening song to the CD and some may be fickled, but the next two songs make this CD a must have in your R&B collection. "Everytime I say goodbye" and "Whatever it takes" makes this CD worth the buy. The other songs on the CD, I would have to say you must be a Cheryl Lynn fan to appreciate the creativity Cheryl brings forth.

Buy it you won't be totally disappointed.

Starting from the Gong Show, to being one of Luther Vandross' background vocalists, Cheryl Lynn shows the world that she got chops. On "Whatever It Takes", she shows us that she can get down with the best of them. Every track is off da meat rack!

My faves are 1. Everytime I Try To Say Goodbye, 2. Whatever It Takes, 3.Good For Me, 4. Overworked N Underloved, 5. Most Of All

and 6. Bottom Line! Her range is magnificent. Cop dis! Won't be sorry!

This cd from Cheryl Lynn has a hip-hop\R&B mix with tradition R&B and ballads, and the samples are just enough not to overpower Cheryl's powerful vocals or the production of the songs. 'Good For Me' is my song from this cd, it has a nice mid-tempo groove, this song should've been released as a single, but the music sceen was changing and this record I feel got lost, still this a strong set from the Incredible Cheryl Lynn!

CHERYL LYNN'S cd "Whatever it takes" finds the talented vocalist taking a more contemporary r&b approach on this 1989 release. Working with JESSE JOHNSON AND LOOSE ENDS on all the songs she ends up with winning results.

The funky song "UPSET" is about Cheryl going through the motions about being lonely. "EVERYTIME I TRY TO SAY GOODBYE" is another uptempo jam (top 10 r&b). The ballad is the title track and it is a standout track.

Cheryl has a major voice and the material she sings on this lp is worthy of it. The songs are carefully crafted to fit her range. The laid back groove of "GOOD FOR ME" is a really good showcase of her voice when its sensual and sexy. The poppy ballad "MOST OF ALL" catches Cheryl going on a vocal rampage. This is a worthy pickup of any fan of Cheryl Lynn. Her voice is timeless and it works with these songs. Buy it, whatever it takes.
