Finally ! One of Quo's best albums on CD,
By
This review is from: Whatever You Want (Audio CD)
To me, "Whatever you want" is one of the best Quo albums ever. I was extremely disappointed, when "Phonogram" released this album as part of their "Back to Back" series, omitting one of the best tracks : "High Flyer". But "Universal" finally set the record straight and the remastering (as it is with this whole series of recent Quo re-issues) is brilliant. The album sounds great, and the bonus tracks add a nice touch to an already perfect album :
"Hard Ride" is another one of those excellent Alan Lancaster songs, while the demo versions of "Another Game in Town" or Rearrange" are definitely worth listening to (however, all these tracks were already released on the "Rockers Rollin'" box set). But it's the original 10 songs that will stand the test of time. Fast rockers like "Shady Lady" and "Runaway", classic Quo like "Whatever you want", "Who asked you", "Your smiling face" or "High Flyer", and the brilliant single "Living on an Island" all got 5-Stars on my iPod. But again, there is not one single weak track on this CD - so go out and buy it ! Thank you Amazon for offering this through your import section.... since there is no official release planned in the USA.

whatever I want,

Whatever I want , and I wanted more quo! So we got all of their classic stuff reissued and this was a career highlight for them with hit's like 'living on a island' and 'whatever you want' on this one. In fact the next two were almost as strong as this one! (never too late and just supposin). Like them the band is laying down really well made rock and roll. I don't buy those twits I have met who put down quo, they never have listened to this one probably. I think this one is even superior to the last two they put out by just a little bit too. And that's saying alot, I can't remember how many times I played this one and other quo cd's while making ski trips. They just get you in the mood for a good time. There isn't a weak song on this in regards to quos mission statement of making kick butt rock , you can't say that about any quo from 'back to back' onward.

I have the album to this, which is titled "Now Hear This". If U are readin this U are probably a true Quo fan. I've been listenin since Pictures of Matchstick Men. I honestly belive that Status Quo is the best Rock & Roll band ever, except for the Beatles. These guys found a formula that rocks & stuck with it. No holds barred boogie. I just had this one transfered off lp onto cd, I love it. Buy it, it's really worth it.
