"What's This?" is the perfect springtime book for preschoolers interested in the newly sprouting flowers all around them. It shows the (very) basics of a seed growing into a sunflower, in a way that very young children can understand. The illustrations are vibrant and fun. This book and a packet of sunflower seeds would make a perfect gift!

This is a really cute book. A little girl finds a seed, plants it, and then cares for the sunflower that grows. At the end of the summer, she gets the seeds from the sunflower and later shares them with her class so that they can grow more sunflowers the next year. It's a simple story but one that is perfect for this time of year and would be a great starter if you are going to garden with your child.
