Book Description

Forged in the Fire October 16, 2001
(Forged in the Fire series, Volume 1) Discover the Good in Your Bad Times.
No one wants to endure heartache or suffering. No one would voluntarily choose to lose a job or a home, to experience the breakdown of a cherished relationship, to vicariously suffer through a child’s anguish and heartbreak, to lose one’s health. Yet it is often through difficult circumstances such as these that God stretches us–and even blesses us–the most.
Some Strength Only Comes Through Struggle.
Ironically, our most significant growth occurs not during times of good fortune, but during periods of trauma. God does not want all our doors to be open. His compassionate intention is that we will suffer disappointment, frustration, and heartbreak–for it is in the fires of such crucibles that our characters are forged.

Witness how men and women like you allowed their character to be deepened as they faced and overcame a variety of difficulties–and find inspiration that will help you do the same–in this collection of twenty stirring stories that speak to the timeless question, What’s So Good about Tough Times?

Of stories having to do with mother love and survival against almost overwhelming odds, few are more gripping than this one, dating back to the bloody border days of the mid-1700s, a time when massacres such as this one were, sadly, all too common. Read the first page
