great for very young babies,

By 4 months old, my son was really responding to these adorable faces. Regardless of how cranky he was, if I put this book in front of him, he would quiet down and stare at the book. I think it is the very big, tightly cropped faces that makes this book really unique. Buy it for your very young babies!!!!

Excellent Choice,

I find that my 8 month old daughter really enjoys looking at this book. We sit and read the book together. The pictures are bold and clear, with the other pages bright in color. All the words are very bold and easy to read. I would recommend this book along with "I LOVE COLORS". They are great books for your young child to read by themselves.

Best choice for an infant's first book,

This book held my son's interest (especially in the car) from 3 months to 1 year and then some. He is a toddler now and "reads" the book to his baby sister. I give it as a gift to friends who have babies because there is nothing better than a silent object that holds your infant's interest and stimulates his/her curiosity. You can't go wrong with this board book for very young children.

Great for quiet moments,

My one-year old son loves babies and is facsinated by this book. He will even leave his noise-maker toys in favor of flipping through the baby photos -- great when the parents need a quiet moment!!

I love these books by Margaret Miller. My one-year-old girl LOVES flipping through the book and pointing to pictures while I name the items for her. I think she is captivated by faces of other little people.

I actually bought three books. Besides "Whats on My Head?", I bought the "I love Colors", and the original Baby Faces. I like all three but I especially like the original "Baby Faces" My grandbaby loves all three and that is what counts. All are boardbooks so great for the younger children.

I liked this book but I have to admit that Baby Faces by this same author is still my favorite. My two year old likes it. I thought it was very similiar to Margret Miller's other book "Boo! Baby".

My daughter took interest in this book at only about 3 months old. The silly photos of babies with things on their heads made her giggle and squeel. She especially loved the "puppy dog" page, cause she has a similar dog toy. Sometimes she would want to put things on my head or on her head while we read this book. But now she is 14 months old, and she has lost interest in this book, so I think it is more captivating to smaller babies.

Not so great for young toddlers (or parents),

I joked with my sister about giving this simple 8-page board book a scathing review, but really, this book is NOT worth your time or money if your baby is old enough to be interested in things of his or her own choosing. Each time I sat my little crawler on my lap and said, What's on my head? we thought, What?! like it was a giant mystery or perhaps an exciting plot twist. Instead, these babies have uncreative props like a beanie babie stuffed animal or different kinds of hats or hair accessories. There are no flaps to lift, only photos. And the babies aren't even all smiley or super-cute - they're just babies. My husband and I spent more time assuring ourselves that our son is cuter than these supermodels than our 13-month-old spent looking at this book. And don't get me wrong - my son thinks it's hilarious if a real 3-D person puts a toy or a hat on his or her head - he will laugh if my husband puts MY lady winter hat on! My son is brilliant, and cute, and full of mature plot twists. This book has none of that. We do like other Margaret Miller books, but this one is not for us. Good luck.
