This book is well-written and opens dialog with your child about the career of a physician. It is pleasantly vintage in its' outlook and illustrations. The doctor in the story is old-fashioned. The nurses in the illustrations are wearing traditional nurse's uniforms with pointed white caps. It makes no attempt to be politically correct, which I find refreshing. It is a good introduction for a young person to a day in the life of a doctor. My sons like hearing this book read aloud.
